Dynamic and Static Apnea Sydney Freedivers train between 1 - 4 times a week in various pools around Sydney and are working on a program to get partners and groups working on their apnea training in more venues. There is a time and a place set aside for introducing new people to the safety protocol for swimming pools and beginning people on their training. Coaching of the less experienced divers is done on a gradient with a gradual build up of time and distance. Constant Weight Dives are done off the the rocks on the Sydney Coast by Sydney Freedivers but as the water is not very deep, seldom more than 22m these are more suitable for the new divers. Charters and personally owned boats will be used as the summer progresses to find some depth to challenge our intermediate and experienced divers. These are being organised. Theory and Goal Setting Once a month the club meets to coordinate its activities for the next month and a training session is delivered at these meetings. This training is pitched at a level suitable to a person new to the sport. The training sessions cover many different subjects. For example: finning technique; improving breath holds; equalization; freediving equipment and safety. There are often video and powerpoint presentations.
